Buying a new house, having a baby, going on maternity leave, petrol price hikes, high food cost have really taken a toll on our budget. Let me just say that there has been some cutting back in the Pillay household when it comes to spending.
This Tuesday was Eli’s 6 month check up with the Pediatrician (I know its late but the she was on holiday and only got back this Monday).
We went to the appointment and I made a list of concerns that I wanted to chat to her about. One of the things on my list was the fact that Eli can turn from front to back but not the other way around and the other was that he cannot sit unaided and falls to his side.
I know I am a little late with this post but it must be said that my little man turned 6 months old last Thursday!!!

Recently while browsing on the Internet, I came across a charitable organization called Operation Shoebox. They ask you to pledge a shoebox of goodies for a child or elderly person that they can distribute for Christmas.
Since I went back to work after being on maternity leave I thought that weekends were my time to rest and replenish my energy for the next work week. Little did I know that I would be going non-stop from the time I wake up in the mornings until I went to bed.
I have lived in our area since I moved to Jozi a little over 10 years ago and we have been married for a little over 9 years. We used to live in a two bedroom townhouse in an upstairs unit. Hannah never really had much space to play around in and we used to wonder if there was a park in our area that we could take her to so that she could ride her bike and just run around and let off some steam. On Sunday Eli got up and he didn’t seem himself and I wasn’t feeling great as well. I told N that I wasn’t going with him to church and Eli can stay with me and we’ll rest for the afternoon. After Hannah and N left for church I took Eli to put him down for a nap and he just wouldn’t nap. He was niggly which is very out of character for my usually happy boy. Continue reading
